(Quick Review #12)
Listen: #2
This was the first time I've heard college Dropout in a long time, and I enjoyed it. I don't think its as good as the other two school-themed albums, but it is still very enjoyable in my opinion. I really like most of the songs here, and while it definantly isn't Kanye's best work, its worth a few listens. I also must state that I listened to this on the shitty Vinyl pressing, so I may have enjoyed it more if I didn't listen to it on it. But it was still enjoyable, just not as good as some of his other stuff. I sound like I'm shitting on it but I still think this is a great album
Decent 8

Does anyone know if the VINYL version with the white cover 1.) contains the skits and 2.) sounds any better?
I read that the white CD cover was for after it was remastered, but am wondering if this applies to the record as well. -
Edited 17 years agoThe College Dropout also known as Kanye West, has arrived on the rap scene as a producer/rapper under the Roc-A-Fella camp. Although he was denied by others that he couldn't rap, Kanye decided to prove them wrong with his debut album, The College Dropout. With his debut album, Kanye produces the whole album using his unique sped-up samples delivering a bunch of hits like, "Jesus Walks" and "Through The Wire" to name a few. He raps about his past experiences in his life while also offering alot of humor in his lyrics.
Kanye took the world by storm with his debut album, this drew controversy and at the same time, fame. He later would become the go-to guy for hits after earning his credit from his latest masterpiece. With his classic album on his shoulders and the bright lights shining down on him, Kanye had finally proved all those that they were all wrong.
