Björk – Debut

Several of these tracks are simply synthpop. . . .

I finally got my hands on the first press. The album is perfect. I love the atmosphere, production, Björk's accent, it all fits so well together. What dissapointed me a bit is the mastering. The record is very experimental and it demands a more spatial mix. Even though it's very well recorded, it misses a little something something. Maybe the 2008 expensive reissue fixed it!

I got this album in a second hand store in and I struggle finding what's the exact edition I've purchased:
• It opens on the left side, so it definitely is not those that opens on top
• It did not have any code, booklet or anything inside. And as I have bought it second hand, it wasn't covered by any plastic.
• The sticker in the vinyl is black with the björk logo in complete white letters, exactly like in the European edition of 2016. That's the only edition with that design right now in the database.
• However, the Matrix / Runout don't match with that one. It only matches with the UK edition of 2015. And I got a plain white inner sleeve, like in that edition.
• Unlike the previously mentioned editions, the copyright paragraph in the back cover is left aligned and says "made in " like the Europe 2021 edition. However, that edition does not have any spelling mistakes and in mine, it says "lendingn" instead of "lending". I could not find any edition with that spelling mistake.
• And the weirdest thing of all: there is not a single edition where the barcode is at least 1 cm from the edge of the album, like it happens in mine.

Sound wise, it is fine. It cracked a bit in crying but nothing serious.
So if somebody else here reads this, purchases the same edition first hand and has any other hints like stickers in the plastic or something, please help me out! It's driving me nuts.

Excellent album, excellent sound, but spindle hole is very tight. I have to remove platter in order to get it out...

Tremendous artist, doesn’t get nearly the respect she deserves. Every time I listen to this album, I find something else to enjoy in it. There’s subtle treats to be found throughout.

Can you tell me how to distinguish them if it comes without the sticker? The sleeve is identical and the vinyl also has the same runoutgroove with the same scratched writing.

My sleeve and booklet got badly damaged, but the vinyl is VG+. If anyone has the sleeve and booklet only for sale, please get in touch.

A must-own album! One of my most prized vinyls in my collection! Defines a generation.

This is a fine album with some soaring high points and a couple mid-points. I find overall that it's excellent but there are a couple tunes that aren't 5/5 material. My personal fave is "One Day" due to its fantasmical production merits and really pretty melodic synth leads/riffs. Her voice is like the sonic equivalent of a good deep-body massage. Human Behaviour has excellent production too and a good but disappointing story behind it. In 1993 this song went up against Janet Jackson w/Tupac Shakur and a couple other forgettable pieces of schwag in the Best New Video category at the Grammys and lost to Janet/Tupac simulating sex for five minutes when Bjork's video was at the cutting edge of computer animation innovation. It just went to show you how the Grammys are a corporate-controlled bunch of shit! Bjork's video for Human Behaviour was 1000 times better than the simulated sex of their competition. Anyway, One Day starts off a four-song marathon of this album's top spots toward the end. Aeroplane and Come To Me are both tens and Violently Happy is a 9.5. This album truly is a work of superior art and should be heard more than it often is. When I become a "DJ" I'll be sure to throw in One Day because it is that good! Check for yourself!
