Great sounding! Warmth, depth, full range and separation. Pleasantly surprised how nice this sounds considering the age of the original content.

The best Sinatra compilation on vinyl. You rarely meet My way and Strangers in the night on the same record

There seems to be a wide range of views on this release. I was hesitant to purchase, but am reasonably happy with the pressing. Vinyl is generally quiet, masters used appear to be very clean - ing a lot of these recordings were made nearly 70 years ago. The spread of tracks over four sides was a wise decision, and gives each track the best chance to breathe. Artwork is great, though a little on the thin side.

The other version notes it's made in Europe (Netherlands, more specifically) but if you look at the photos of this version it has the same text on back, indicating Netherlands.

For some reason, the two first tracks on A side sound TERRIBLE! But the rest is actually pretty good! Nice collection!

He was the best plus he always worked with the best...musicians, arrangers, and song writers...What is nice about this release is you are taking the trip with Frank Sinatra throughout much of his career...From the more bop and at times sultry Columbia days and then onward to the swingin' start of things on Capitol and finally he mellows more in the later days at his Reprise label...Yes, a singing adventure all the way...For me Frank IS the best singer of modern times...Recall once on the "Tonight Show" Carson asked Frank who HE listened to when he was in an amorous moment...The audience gasped as they saw Sinatra taken back for brief moment and then he went on to say he liked Jerry Vale and a few others...What a moment in musical history right there on NBC...And one of the TOP aspects of Sinatra's style is his phrasing...You ALWAYS hear ALL the lyrics...His enunciation is tip top...If you want a great retrospective of the singing career of Frank Sinatra, score this LP...Two 180 gram albums will take all the way down the Sinatra highway...Enjoy, for it's a groovy fun trip!

Could someone tell me what the difference is between this release and the 2015 Europe version, they are identical with the same runouts to me, and if you zoom on rear sleeve pic here on the us version with a magnifying glass it reads made in holland. I do not see a difference. The only thing I see is someone left the 9 off the upc on the release for the europe release.

yeah mastering is fairly bad, dont know what they used but i just began listening to it and so far the first 2 tracks sound lacking in all possible ranges... I am glad i didn't pick it up for full price, i don't think this is worth more than around 20 bucks and that is being generous. At least i am glad there is basically no surface noise which is really a big plus since you have to crank up the volume considerably. Hopefully some of the most recent and or popular tracks have better mastering.

The record is very good throughout the tour, but it does not sound great to me. I do not know what your master source is and does not mention it on the disc. The D side contains a noise in the right channel on the first songs, if it is a defect of my pressing or is general.

Used not original masters, or remastered not from original tapes. You can hear the biggest difference in My Way (worst quality), Summer Wind, New York (but I think they did great job here), Ill Never Smile Again (Rip from shellac maybe).
