Great album sounds so bad. I’m really disappointed… I suggest, if you want to listen, streaming is the best solution.

There’s pretty bad inner groove distortion on side A but the rest of this sounds alright, not really great but by no means unlistenable
-
Not a good sounding record. It sounds compressed and the vinyl is not quite. I should have read the reviews before buying. I gave it two stars instead of one only because it’s a great album just not a good record.

What a disappointing pressing!, totally lacking in dynamics, compressed, even noisy up in some places, really poor vinyl pressing, avoid!

Just bought a copy of this from Amazon and they must have done a new pressing because the incorrect tracklisting on the LP2 sleeve has been fixed. Same barcode on the outer sleeve. The vinyl pressing sounds great on my system, well defined with great dyanmics and really full low end, Florence's vocals float vividly over the music.

Edited 9 years agoPicked this up because the digital mastering was so promising— bright and vivid. Sorely disappointed with this pressing. Really muddy: no range, poor definition in the highs, and just sort of awful to listen to, in general. Welch's voice just gets lost in the noise, rather than soaring across it. Combined with the mis-printed sleeve, it seems like there wasn't much quality control for this release.
