I’m not convinced that calling a Japanese concept album “Yellow Power” was really in the best taste, but regardless some amazing music is to be found on here lurking amongst some pretty ordinary Deutsch electro-pop/rock.
Most obviously “Hai Samurai”, which recently received the edit/re-release treatment and also “Train To Nowhere”, a pleasant enough Bowie-esque instrumental piece.
For me however, the best tracks are “Tojo”; almost identical to the much lusted after “Enjaw”, from the impossible to find/afford “Explorer” LP and also “Radio Tokyo”, a really heavy drugged-out slab of freaked cosmic craziness recalling the Moog sound of Tubeway Army.
Also worth mentioning is the beautiful airbrushed cover art, depicting some kind of new-romantic bushido warrior.
