Notes
This edition has a black maple leaf on the back cover (upper left corner).
There is an almost identical edition but without the maple leaf: Led Zeppelin - Untitled.
Catalog number:
KSD-19129 (on labels)
KSD 19129 (on inner sleeve)
Inner sleeve has lyrics to 'Stairway to Heaven' on one side and track titles and credits on the other. Interestingly, whilst Jimmy Page succeeded in having the Peter Grant credit removed from the labels, they were never removed from the inner sleeves.
This release was commonly referred to as 'Led Zeppelin IV', to follow in sequence with their previous three releases, but no actual title appears on the release.
Runouts are etched.

I own this reissue and the sound quality is not the greatest on it. Recently bought the 2014 remaster on clear vinyl and comparing sound quality the 2014 remaster is way better with the dynamic range.
In summary avoid this reissue -
Edited one year agoI buying this LP new at Kelly’s in downtown Vancouver around 1981. Unfortunately, I think this is a horrid pressing and beware of any subsequent reissues with the 11/29/79 date etched in the dead wax. I soon found an 1972 CDN reissue that uses the original stampers and catalogue number and it was night and day better by a long shot!

I buying a copy of this from Record And Tape Traders used for $8 in 1982. Still spin it once in a while........
