VInyy- Anyone else getting popping on this album? I think I've reduced it down to the vinyl itself, which I've cleaned and can't see anything that would be causing the staticky pops.....

      A Brilliant Followup

This album is able to maintain a sound that isn't a total re-hash of AN's debut while still being able to have a familiar sound to catch the attention of unsuspecting fans. The first track (Run) attempts to go from hauntingly melodic to explosively jagged which sets a good prologue to the rest of the tracks even if the track itself is pretty weak. The album in its entirety goes back and forth between a soft melody and a raging, pulsing beat (such as the acoustic ballad Headrest For My Soul goes immediately into the quick-paced, electro-rock Dreamers). This helps the album to not grow stale. The lyrical content feels much more personal in this album than Megalithic Symphony. In this album Aaron talks about himself, and the people around him (I.e. I Am or Woman Woman). Overall whether Run is better than Megalithic Symphony is up for debate, however this album is far from a flop. Some tracks can be a bit weak or maybe a bit too repetitive, but they still hold the same energy and ion that Aaron projected through the debut. I give this album a strong 7 or a light 8.
