Being a big collector of this band my review is simple: everything up to FTATR is 5 stars, all that came after that 4 ( and some come close to 5, some to 3😉). This one is a defenit 4. But let's be honest, a band with this reputation can't bring out a really bad album😁

Edited 9 years agoWell, this might not be the final AC/DC album, but it appears increasingly likely that "Rock or Bust" will be the last one to feature vocalist Brian Johnson. (In my book, there *is* no AC/DC without Johnson. If you relish the idea of an Axl Rose-fronted Thunder from Down Under recording a followup to this album, you're welcome to it.) Not a great record by any means, this is still a solid collection of songs and pretty much what you'd expect from the band at this stage of its long career. 'Dogs of War' deftly recaptures the lurching menace of classics like 'Let Me Put My Love into You' and 'Spellbound', while 'Rock the Blues Away' demonstrates the subtle vulnerability of which AC/DC has always been capable despite its sledgehammer reputation. For me, the only sour note is the gratingly adolescent chorus of 'Emission Control', which veers way too close to Def Leppard territory. -
There's no such thing as dry rain, and There's no such thing as a bad AC/DC album.
For the first time since 1980 the boys had something to prove, and prove it they did.
It's all there.
