I don't agree at all with the bad reviews I'm reading here. It's not the best sounding record in my collection but certainly not anywhere the worst. I'll it that it would've benefited from being pressed as a double to reduce some compression but come on folks. Unless there's drastic differences among individual copies of the same press, I'd say a lot of you are being far too critical. I don't know, maybe my damaged 50+ year old ears don't hear the same as some of yours. I will say that when it comes to the artwork, those of you complaining are just being ridiculous

What the hot garbage is this? And before you tell me to upgrade my system, I’m running under a soundsmith cart with the rest of the gear to that cart. So basically it’s not my gear. This pressing is just hot garbage. It deserves better.

I don't get the bad reviews. My copy came out very clean, very flat, and noise free. The dynamics ARE NOT incredible. It does sound a bit flat across the board, but it doesn't sound bad. The low end is tight but could have benefitted from a little more oomph. Mids and highs are crisp and clear. Nothing is muddy. It's not horrible. It's not bad. Jacket is fine with art and text and no thing is misprinted, crooked, blurry, or fuzzy.

The record sounds bad. Guitars are mixed into a mess. It feels like I'm listening to a 128 kbps MP3. My Russian record sounds like Iron Maiden and sures this squalor in all respects. An unsuccessful 2014 for Iron Maiden records.

My copy here sound alright, good press, no noises, no wobble, sound is as good as original, a tad better i find , better soundstage/wider, for those who say this album version's sound sucks , you either got a Lemon or either clean your ears, update your stylus, update your equipment, rinse vinyl before listening, because this remaster sounds good to me !

The cover is made very dimly and with printing errors, the album title is printed crookedly and there are defects in the letters, as if when a hair was printed on the matrix, the sound is terrible, not saturated and flat... I really love this album, but you can't do reissues like that, take an example from Metallica and the Blackened label

Epic mint pressing dynamics are vg+ vocals very clear and centred bass is plentiful but not super heavy.
Mastered very good by George Marino doing his very best to lay down a brilliant cut Mastered disc.

"Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son" is one of the major albums in Iron Maiden's career, a cult classic of the eighties and their last album of that great decade. The number of versions that have been marked on Discogs with a span of 35 years is simply amazing, to find differences among them and chek features this is a work that can be used as the basis for a dissertation on the work of Iron Maiden. Of course, finding some vintage copy in good condition is always good, but a relatively fresh remastered copy is not as bad as it is written here.

It's worth starting with the fact that this version has DR13, which is an excellent value, comparable to earlier editions (and in some cases slightly superior to them). However, the frequency characteristics and balance of the instruments are slightly different. The 2014 version has a very pronounced range of medium frequencies, which significantly exceeds low and high. This album initially did not sound heavy (it was recorded like that!), given the lack of low-frequency pressure, the sound on this press is perceived even more "lightweight". The balance of instruments is dominated by bass and vocals, however, both bass parts and vocals are also accentuated in the mid-frequency range. Even the guitar solo parts, which sound very, very good here, with sufficient depth, are also mostly in the middle. This kind of remastering sounds crystal clear and transparent, just to the point of indecency clear. Perhaps this version will scare off the owners of 666-fold rewritten cassettes, but in fact, even on the simplest amplifier, you can always slightly increase the low frequencies and, accordingly, make the sound more dense. In Direct mode everything is also very good, in any case, after several listening "the puzzle took shape".

This version doesn't sound quiet, this version doesn't sound deaf, and this version doesn't have noises or pops (except maybe some damaged copies, it's not always clear in what condition the reviewer received his copy). The new copy that came into my hands a few days sealed, after a little preparation for listening, sounds perfect. In of printing, everything is also very good, the outer sleeve is made of thick paper, good detail and contrast, there are no questions about the insert either, although a protective antistatic envelope would definitely not hurt. If you are not a parishioner of the "First Press" seсt, a copy from this edition will cover the needs for a nice-sounding album.
