I strongly when I discovered Steve Roach in 2009. Immersion: One was one of the first CDs I came across of his vast catalog. I listened to this piece while lying in the sofa - and somewhere in the middle I fall asleep and later on when the volume fades I wake up again. And I feel more relaxed then I've ever been. But most remarkably I feel I've been somewhere very, very distant whilst listening, or sleeping rather. This serie is still on-going and calling it "Immersion" is very suitable because this is pure cosmic therapy of the new millenium. Along with Vol. 3 this is the sound world I've listened most frequently to. There's a light dissonant tone in the music which is most noticable in the first half of the CD though there's nothing harsh about it at all. In fact this drone-work is purely etheric and can set a man in trance if he allows himself to.

When I first heard this I expected another Darkest Before Dawn, and became disappointed when it wasn't as dark and melancholic. I wanted more of that infinite, eternal black womb and felt that this was too light and naïve. But after a while my opinion started to sway, and I now consider this one of the best Steve Roach records ever, which says quite a lot.

This is ambient of endless vastness and enormous depth, despite its remarkable subtlety and minimalism. Unlike Darkest Before Dawn, this record also has a sort of progression or musical movement through the piece as a whole, like a gargantuan 74-minute wave that the smaller ripples ride atop.

This is a truly extraordinary record, made even better by its masterfully crafted and highly sublime slide downwards in volume and frequency range after 20-25 minutes, which adds to its fantastic sense of journey inwards and makes it the perfect record to go to sleep to.

This is probably the most sublime, heavenly, and mesmerizing ambient track I have heard from anyone, ever.
        Restful and completely immersive.
This is some subtle but powerful magic Steve has weaved.
        A must have!

It is a brilliant, magnificent, everlasting masterpiece of 100% refined, totally beatless ambience. You can't just simply listen - it floats around you, somewhere...

I've never heard so pure ambient..

Somebody could call it dull or even non-music, but if you realy want to relax and drown into your own minds, it's the best thing to listen to.

All 73 minutes feels like one neverending journey throught deepest and chilling sounds your ears can hear of.
