one of the most enduring acts of the UK pop scene of their time. Very distinctive sound that manages to still sound fresh as well as nostalgic at the same time. Still going strong and a pair of excellent creative people

Like Disco v88 - Six tracks, all previously released by themselves or others (It's Alright maybe the Paninaro of '88)

I prefer the original "I Want A Dog" to the version here, the piano solo midway through, just doesn't seem right.

But their own version of "I'm Not Scared" is rather superb, and with "Left To My Own Devices" and their uplifting version of "It's Alright" onboard, it all comes across as more than proper in total.

A 5 million selling album, at the top of their game, “pop” doesn’t get better than this, sublime !

Parlophone recordings tend to be great in general and they take a lot of care with their vinyl (unlike say Rhino with the terrible Depeche Mode reissue quality). I've always been a fan of this era of Pet Shop Boys, and Introspective ranks among my very favorites. Its one of those albums I owned on cassette back in the day then later on CD and finally now on vinyl. Knowing every note, beat, and blip by heart, you can imagine how I would scrutinize this recording. Not only does it not disappoint, rather it actually sounds better than I ever ed. If you like the music, highly recommended.

Direct comparison with the 2018 timtom cut https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/11648999-Pet-Shop-Boys-Introspective :
The original press is very good, but the 2018 smooths out the top end just enough; no loss in clarity, but a little less edge. The original CD also sounds excellent; neither vinyl LP is a revelation by comparison, just a more high-res presentation.

Superb album, always loved this and recently picked up this copy at a Junk shop in amazing condition. Couldn't be happier

I have both a UK original and a 2018 remaster, and they are both incredible sounding discs. I do prefer the original pressing as it seems 'warmer' but it is a stunning album. It's Alright is worth the price of this alone.

I would love to see Trevor Horn remix this into 5.1
