Washed Out – Paracosm

I had a copy of this around when it came out, and ed it sounding incredible. A decade+ later, with a far better system? Even better.

A sonic experience from start to finish, well mastered, and as others have said the soundstage is fantastic. When the vocals cut in on the start of the B side… shivers down my spine!

Pressing is flat and both inner and outer sleeves are gorgeous as well. +1 to everything else nice written below this, buy a copy!

Just to reiterate the other comments, this sounds absolutely incredible. Some of the reverb effects feel like they go on forever into the void (particularly in the title track Paracosm). Very cool, great production. Lovely packaging, the floral pattern is slightly raised on the cover and nice to run your fingers over (God forbid!). The cover and sleeve are a nice matte finish which I much prefer over glossy sleeves as well. The artist name and album name are on a big sticker on the plastic wrap, I just cut it out of the wrapper and slid into the sleeve to hang on to it.

This album is a must have for Washed Out fans or really anyone who likes music and has feelings.

For a record born of the digital age, this pressing sounds amazing. The bass is rich and full. The highs come through. If you’re already a fan, this is a great addition without springing for the limited edition pressings.
