I frankly enjoy this collection of rejected material much more than 'Something For Everybody.' I think the presence of like 5 producers--excluding the band--appearing throughout SFE speaks a great deal about its sound; it's very polished and seems like they were aiming more toward the 'Whip It' crowd instead of the main fanbase. It's like a TV reboot in that it wants to remind you of elements of what made you love the original while also keeping up with the times, a tactic that rarely has much staying power. It's still fun and has some great songwriting throughout, but it's too dubstep-esque and 'Whip It' sounding.
This collection, however, sounds rougher and more guitar-oriented, which feels more like their earlier stuff. I can honestly imagine songs like 'Shoulda Said Yes' and 'Think Fast' being recorded for 'QA'. Overall, this material just sounds more fun and energetic than the more artificial SFE. -

These are two very different releases. There is no reason to merge these. Who is doing this? Even the very title of the album is Something ELSE for everybody. This is dumb and makes no sense.
