Wow! This is such an amazing sounding version that will definitely put the recent 2xLP 45rpm reissue to shame. Not that that one sounds bad. But I can tell after listening to an original version that the Abbey Road remaster was definitely trying to capture the stunning impact and clarity of the original sound. This just has such a dense and focused sound with an enormous stage; rich and emits a pure analog warmth. No remaster can compare really. Though I will say the new remaster cleans up the vocals a little bit and they sound just a bit more present in the mix than here which is a plus. But the low end is absolutely amazing on this thing and the stereo image bewildering. I have to say this 33 1/3 Japanese pressing wins over the Abbey Road 45rpm. Find an early version of this album for sure.
