Edited 5 months agoSo glad to finnaly get my hands on this pressing. Got it online from a Limundo auction (serbian alternative for eBay) for 40€ in VG++ condition, the only time I've seen one in the wild was in a Berlin record store for 90€ without the OIS so i had to but with a heavy heart. The pressing is great, a little quiet but that is to be expected because of the length and year of relase. My tip if you ever find this one in the wild and love the Sammy era, buy it if you can. Because chances of it popping up again are slim. Glad to finnaly have an original, the reissue to me does not sound as good, but to each his own.
P.s. I love this album, it is in my top 3 Van Halen records and i will never understand the hate for the period in which Sammy fronted the band. Poundcake rules -
Slightly quieter due to length I’d imagine. That aside it’s still a sonic treat full of goodness. A classic that is generally sought after due to limited release on vinyl due to the mid 90’s obsession with CDs and digital. Looking forward to the possible VanHagar remasters which I will get as well. No doubt they will remaster this over two discs which will give this album a better soundstage I’d imagine. That aside if you can find an OG it’s still well worth the spend!!

Just bought this CD, ripped it, but the music on it is from someone called Michael McDermott. The cover says Van Halen the CD has Van Halen, but the actual music is not Van Halen. This has never happened to be me before.

Save your $$!!
ITS BEING REPRESSED AND REMASTERED!!!
Said by himself Sammy Hagar, have no doubt about this news either nothing but excitement !!
ALL of the Van Hagar albums are getting the treatment, even the live album!! -
I finally managed to find one OG European edition made in and I am very satisfied. It wasn't cheap, but you only live once. This is an excellent Van Halen album and it is certainly among the best Van Halen albums and definitely my favorite with the fantastic Sammy Hagar. The sound of this release is also excellent. In fact, all those Van Halen albums on the original Warner release sound great.

I bought a clean copy of this record recently. It sounds great. You do have to turn up it up a bit more than usual but that is expected given the length of the album. Michael Anthony’s bass sounds great and the same with Alex’s drums. Everything is pretty clear and well separated.

Edited 2 years agoI bought this album today in a small record store in whose owner has absolutely no idea of his business. Top condition of vinyl and sleeve....guess what I've paid! 8 Euros! No joke! Today is a good day :)

Anyone know what the issue is with not reissuing this on vinyl? What is the problem? Phenomenal album that would have no problems selling as many copies as they could press. So what’s the hold up?

When will we get a vinyl reissues of the Sammy era, especially this album and Balance, OG copies are extremely expensive and hard to find
