people weren't kidding about this: the detail on this absolutely smashes every CD and digital version I've heard. Don't have a modern pressing to compare it to, but given the reviews, I doubt any of them top this.

Edited one month agoLoved this when it was released in 1994. Got it on vinyl - which drew derision and goading from my mates who all ditched their vinyl collections and bought only CDs. I have the Damont pressing which was the only version if you bought it ‘94 or early ‘95 anyway. However, I find some of the raving commentary about its great sound quality a bit surprising. At the time, anybody with a half decent hifi system and a ing interest in what was good production and sound quality, knew and moaned that the production wasn’t great and many tracks suffered from harsh and quite thin texture. Particularly Rock and Roll Star was almost grating to the ears compared to other better engineered and pressed recordings on vinyl. Just compare it to some other releases of the early ‘90s. Anyway, still a great album and proof that abandoning vinyl would leave me gloating to my mates 30 years later, some of them forking out for new turntables and discs now!

Blown away is an understatement!! I read that I’ll be blown away by the Damont pressing, but I thought it was an exaggeration, but my God! I have listened to this record a thousand times, on all formats, nothing, and I mean nothing beats this!!! Worth every penny! My God, still blown away by the sound! Supersonic is just something else on this! All the songs in fact! Wowwww

As I realized today, I own the first six OASIS albums - all original and first pressings. Including this “Damont pressing”. I haven't listened to the records for around 24 years, or at that time almost exclusively the CD versions.

Does anyone find that cigarettes and alcohol on this pressing sounds a tad distorted? Or is it just my copy??

Holy cow just got this pressing 😮 Columbia sounds so frickin good on this pressing. Why did they "remaster" this album, it was so beautiful the first time..

After 29 years of this record changing my life I finally got a copy of this on original 1994 pressing. When I was a kid I bought this on CD—later on I’d bought the anniversary box set with vinyl on it and most recently the Japanese coloured vinyl reissue.
The Damont 1994 pressing is incredible. It helps that this album is so incredible, but the sound of this pressing is so clean and vivid and wonderful. The sonics are right on point and it’s kind of sad how this album has been badly pressed over the years.
If you’re really into Oasis early stuff like I am—it’s worth spending the $$ to buy a copy. I was lucky found one in NM condition for around $200. Once you have it—you have it! -
