With Pixies' muse slowly dissolving around the time due to personal conflicts (or so the legend says), The Breeders were a spot on surprise (supergroup) of sorts. 30 minutes of pure sonic delight - on the surface, it may have sounded like a standard alternative rock record competing with the likes of "Bossanova" but The Breeders' experimental spirit gave the band a great big push forward. Now about to turn 30, "Pod" still shines. A timeless masterpiece.
