I love Man Machine’s Step Into Time EP, but Denkimi Shakuhachi pops better off this single pressing. Classic cut.

I bought this at the time based on something I read about it causing mayhem at the Hacienda with people dancing around pretending to play flutes. No idea if that's true or not but everyone should own a copy of this, so glad I picked it up.

Exactly in the year 90 when this maxi came out, the DJ of the record where I was going to dance, which was a (matine) played incredible music! starting at 7:00 p.m. until 12:30 p.m.
he was running on this track. it was amazing and extremely advanced
Robot-To Okoku, at that time there was no Internet, nor did we have the information, which there is now. For many years we thought that the creator of the music was Chinese.
and we always said, how incredible the music that the Chinese make !!!
The great track used to be accompanied by robotikjo rejekto -injection, another great song from the same era, under my ipinion there are 2 tracks that are already over 30 years old, yet they still sound as good today as they did in the early 90's. Who lived that era knows what I'm talking about.

how good is this ?
I had this release in my wantlist for quite some time and i didn't really pay atention to it , stupid me.
I don't know what it is but for me that's the kind of music that makes minds go crazy and can ignite a dancefloor in flames, which it does in a way not a lot of records do , while it does it's job as a dancefloor record this record does manage to bring in some emotions not in a cheesy way but in a deeply touching way.
won't leave my bag so fast -

A work of excellence from Ed Stratton who also produced the amazing 'Step Into Time' album (check it!). Years ahead of it's time in dance music , as in really well produced with multi-layered soundscapes making for a listening experience yet to be dampened by time. The 'Step Into Time' album is definitely on my desert island disc list.

Edited 18 years agoDeep Deeep house, flutes and atmosphere. if you like your house deep and moody then this is one for you. flip side is robot kingdom with a slightly harder edge . a quality record. one of my desert island disks for sure
