I used to have an early press that I bought here on discogs years ago. I it had red polydor labels and was quite thin and floppy, like a dynaflex. Anyone have an idea which version I had?

I've got an original pressing of this album signed by all 4 of the band, including McGeoch. Can anyone supply me with a value for this for sale or insurance purposes. Both the sleeve and vinyl are in VG/EX condition

Edited one year agoThe golden age of the Banshees in every way, bass, drums, guitar, vocals, style, aesthetics, moods and cover. The album also has a great unity of sound from one track to the next. The mix is also very good. It was during this period that Budgie and Siouxsie became a couple and also formed John McGeoch who was in the band for three albums with the Banshees, is at its best here. The name of the album is also excellent and promising.
My original UK version Siouxsie & The Banshees - Juju (with information on the matrix: POLS1034 - STR STRAWBERRY ) is flawless, and the pressing is very good and very detailed. -

One of the most perfect albums by anyone ever! Although The Banshees would continue to release one excellent LP after another, they never topped this one. JUJU begs for a deluxe edition containing all of the associated singles and non-LP B-sides.

Every song on this album is a timeless killer - wild, frightening, and driven. If you haven’t got it, do so.

Edited 3 years agoHi. Just got this original version and I have sound issues on many tracks (left channel) Anyone else have this ? The record has no scratches and has been cleaned and looks mint. Very disappointing.

My review is on the music rather than the vinyl pressing issues that have infiltrated this release. In my humble view, this is the Banshees masterpiece. The depth of atmosphere goes to some quite ubersubterranean place of beauty. There's a sort of wall of sound surrounded by Siouxsie's vocal and Budgie's percussion. I play this album probably a mere once a year, but am always glad I did. "Night shift" for what it's worth, is my favourite Banshees tune, absolute class. Thank you.

Siouxsie’s darkest album alternates between a vortex of paranoia and her usual sardonic humour.
‘Into the Light’ is serene and lovely, while ‘Arabian Knights’ is grotesquely funny (Siouxsie certainly had a racialist streak, her armbands weren’t entirely for shock; as for the ridiculous song ‘Israel’ she was probably forced to write it as penance, in fear for her life).
‘Monitor’, a beautifully hypnotic lighter piece, would have fit in well on ‘A Kiss In The Dreamhouse’, but gives way to the intense ’Night Shift’, which is pure black hole gravity.
John McGeoch was a brilliant guitarist. Siouxsie said of him: ‘I loved the fact that I could say, "I want this to sound like a horse falling off a cliff", and he would know exactly what I meant.’
McGeoch brought out the best in Siouxsie, and the three albums he played on are undoubtedly her best. -
