A theory:
The clock on the cover displays 21:12 - that's already well documented.
I just queued up the last four tracks in Strawberry (a Linux-based music player), and the running time clocked in at 21:12
Was "BU2B2" deliberately created to clock in at 1:27 and create an easter egg? -
This is by far the worst sounding Rush album. I never had a problem with Vapor Trails, I love the original US CD. The Vapor Trails remix sucks IMO, really takes the power out of the album, especially on Earthshine which is my favorite song from the album.
Anyway, back to Clockwork Angels. I recently purchased the Japanese CD and I can finally listen to this album. It isn't perfect by any means, but you can at least hear the different instruments. The US CD is a unlistenable wall of noise, which is really unfortunate. Rush deserve a much better sounding album to end their career with. -
I wasn't a rush fan when this came out, but it BLOWS MY MIND that they could have a mixing/ mastering disaster on vapor trails, and then have it happen again in the 21st century. The only album (by any artist) that this mix reminds me of is vapour trails. No it's not as bad as that is but it's plagued with similar issues. You'd think a band as big as Rush could polish up what seems like an average album to make it sound good, but alas.
I need to listen more but I also just don't think I'm a big fan of Rush's songwriting for their last 25-30 years as a band. A lot of it comes off as extremely predictable and watered down. This album deviates from their norm more than some other post- "Moving Pictures" Rush albums, but still. -

Do all of the copies manufactured in Canada reflect running times of 0:00 on the back cover, or is it time to add another version?

I have the vinyl version of this and not only is the recording far from special having a very unnatural tonality, but the vinyl is particularly noisy. Disappointing given that it is a brand new record and that the music is good. Have others also found the vinyl noisy?
