So yeah, the bottom end might appear lean, but to have it differently would produce a lot less clarity elsewhere. This is a record all about the percussion and that all shines here. Recommended.

I dig the soundstage this pressing presents. The separation and balance of the instruments is also very good, not bass heavy but just enough. Super happy with this as it's important on this record to hear well what every individual musician is doing. I have no complaints. Jaw dropping on the headphones!

This sounds fine, with a good soundstage. I do think there is a focus on the high frequencies, but it's by no means a bad pressing. The cover reproduction however is atrocious. It looks like it was done using a photo copier.

Edited 2 years agoMy copy sounds very good, good trebles, mids and bass. Good separation of the instruments. I've not compared with the Mofy so I can't tell which one is better. IMHO is a good choice. Listen with Michell Gyro SE turntable and VdH Colibri cartridge.

doesn't sound as good as my late 70s US pressing. why remaster something that's already excellent? don't believe the hype!

a great pressing, my go to version these days.
nothing else to be said on the matter
the On The Corner sessions box was not well mastered so i still consider this LP essential -
This record is what made me want to seek out other releases by miles davis and other jazz artists from this time period. If you find yourself curious as well, you will run directly into Strata East, Tribe and other independent jazz record labels and also early Weather Report. Retro modern jazz groups have come very close to recreating the sound of jazz from the 1969-1973 period, but have failed to capture the underlying tension of why this music was created and why that music is so intense to this day. Miles Davis's "On The Corner" captures the tension of The United States and The Black Community in the early 70's dealing with Vietnam, Racism, Nixon, Drugs, Unemployment, Poverty, The Black Panther Party and Equal Right's. This record was released in 1972 during some the worse fighting in vietnam and the rise of The Black Power Movement.Miles Davis was never blind to The Black Community's social issues and "On the Corner" is a political record without words, meant to be played loud and proud.
