I was happy to pick this up, where the streets have no name is one of my favorites of all time. This doesn’t say “AAD” on it like some other 80’s CDs but I chuckled at the disclaimer on the back “the music on this compact disc was originally recorded on analog equipment (etc etc) because of its high resolution, however, the compact disc can reveal limitations of the source tape” almost apologizing for it - meanwhile in 2023 most of the audiophiles would vastly prefer that. From an audio quality - it sounds awesome. So much better than some of my favorite 90’s bands who recorded with CDs in mind. Definitely pre loudness war.

Edited 6 years agoI gave this album a try for the first time yesterday, just to see what all the hype was about. I had high hopes for this album, but they were quickly smothered. Every song on this record sounds EXACTLY the same, other than having different lyrics, most songs come off bland and just plain boring. The popularity of this album seems to be fuelled more by nostalgia than anything else. That being said, it's not really a GOOD album, but it's not bad either. For me, it sits in the middle as average/mediocre.
