Perfect music, quality and sound. Thank you so much dear Strut people for this excellent Sun Ra. Music from outer space. -
This set is absolutely stunning. The vinyl are flat, noise free and the remaster is excellent. Different experience from the other complaining posts. -
The original Nuits De La Fondation Maeght concerts on shandar label sounds much better,. also get the 2 vol Albert Ayler and 3 vol Cecil Taylor concerts on Shandar -
My copy is absolutely fantastic. Packaging, vinyl, style—everything exactly as I wanted it to be. Thank you, Strut!

Curiously, the expanded box abridges "The Cosmic Explorer" (which was side B of the original Nuits Vol 1 on Shandar) by about 7 minutes with a fade out. Perhaps there was a problem with the source tape? So there is a bit of material still exclusive to the original release where the piece works better in full. Other than that, I am very happy with this release.

This is a great set but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. The vinyl is wafer thin and all the discs in my set are badly warped. A real shame and a missed opportunity. The music, booklet and box are all really good but Strut have skimped on the most important thing. I get it’s a 6-disc set and the price was reasonable but it seems like a missed opportunity. I could have just been unlucky but I have had similar issues in the past. The discs in my Lanquidity boxset looked like they had been walked all over. -
Edited one month agoCompletely wrong entry, the correct discogs record appears here with copies that aren't priced at more than twice face value. Screw scalpers.
