My Copy is a bit different than shown at the pics here - CD 1 is without "Achtung Baby" - writing. Both CD´s not show "Made in " - CD1 says "2778825 13 A00" CD2 "2782627 23 A00" and both "Sony DADC" - who could help me to find out what it is?

Edited 4 years agoTwenty years since this highly acclaimed release by U2 came out Achtung Baby it still sounds as timeless as ever, with a drastic re-imagining of their style and sound after the huge success of The Joshua Tree the band were able to pull off a near complete re-brand and make it work, sadly though however this version of the anniversary set will leave you wanting. After seeing what you can get on the bigger (more expensive) sets you'll almost feel a little short changed. It was around this time that U2 spoiled us with a butt load of remixes by the likes of Apollo 440, Paul Oakenfold and more, but all these tracks are set aside for the larger variants, leaving us with a swathe of near forgettable b-sides instead. There are a spattering of remixes on the 2nd disc, but not ones you'd expect and are far from the iconic tracks we deserved.
On top of that the remastering job on the album itself seems a little...off. What should be an open sprawling atmosphere instead sounds compressed and comes across as a little too quiet (hell I even got a fellow fan to send me a digital copy of their deluxe version to make sure it wasn't my speakers and got the same problem!). Like many of the band's remasters over the years it seems to be pot luck on weather it'll be any good, which is a shame because many of their works deserve to get the best quality on offer. The album is still a sturdy one, no complaints there, it just deserved better in this instant.
