Surface noise was close to unbearable. You can’t have a vocalist with minimal instrumentation on a pressing the suffers from this type of surface noise. Garbage. I am sure the material is wonderful if I could hear it.

One of the best sounding records I own. Everything sounds super detailed and dynamic. The board game is a fun add on aswell

Strings and harmonies had me levitating. Stand out tracks for me is “must be love”, “bewitched”, and “second best”.

Edited 2 days agoCannot believe there are no reviews for this. It's a fabulous pressing, flat, quiet, 45rpm and blue. The recording is rich and deep and I end up playing it louder than I realise to absorb that voice, which is gorgeous. I bought this on a whim never having heard of Laufey, let alone anything by her, and was very glad I did. Recommended if you like low key female jazz singers. Or snakes and ladders.

this record sounds absolutely perfect i can't complain about anything except maybe the board game. -
The problem with this album is the inclusion of the board game which causes the records to warp. It's a poor marketing decision.

Edited 2 days agoimpulsively picked this up at Target last night and it sounds excellent! some of the other releases have mixed reviews, but i’d take the chance because my copy sounds flawless on all 4 sides. the packaging (photos, board game, booklet) are all beautiful too.
