The two compilation albums are presented in a sturdy side opening slipcase type box which has a high gloss finish and a V-cut notch to the open edge. There is text to one closed edge. The artist to the front is in silver foil block detail.
The two albums retain the original style four gatefold sleeves, but this time with three discs each.
Each disc is held in a top opening printed sleeve of card. The discs are translucent.
Each album contains a 12" square insert, printed on both sides.
Package came shrink-wrapped affixed to which is a barcoded hype sticker. Copies may come with a second sticker on the reverse showing "Made in ".
Runouts are etched. Each runout contains mirrored geometric plating marks.

I’m sad to say that side 1 of my Blue Album has a bunch of non-fill (at least a couple moments per song). I ordered my copy in the second run after it sold out the first time directly from the Beatles Store (a first for me), and it was delivered right before Christmas. The rest of the set sounds pretty amazing. I’ve never had any issues with Beatles pressings from the last 10 years or so, so I was surprised and saddened. Hoping I just have the weird one?

Edited one year agoOff the hook sounds Amazing!!! My older brother just gave this to me as a late Christmas Present (he ordered it from The Beatles website). Dead Quiet! (put it on before cleaning!) Beautiful Blue and Red 180g LP's. -
Great sound, quiet and clean, and prefer the running order to new CDs, where songs that don't belong on red/blue are interspersed but here I think of them as a bonus LP. I'm also glad they just snuck that 3rd LP into the second sleeve as getting LPs out of a tri-fold can be a pain the arse. Referring to the CD again, first side cd red album had some painfully sibilant moments I didn't hear on LP (played on same amp/speakers).

Limited is relative: these boxes with the coloured vinyls were already sold out. The Universal Music Group started producing more boxes for Christmas business. They can be bought now for the original price at Bravado.

First I took the discs out and just STARED at that color. Wow! Absolutely beautiful. Not even through 1962-1966 and this is a soilid 5 for me. These remxies are gorgeous, my jaw was on the floor at Day Tripper. Worth the price! -
Amazing set. Excellent mixes and master.
Sadly, my boxset arrived with seam splits on the top of BOTH red and blue album jackets.

Edited one year agoOrdered in late October, just received this past week, but worth the wait. A nice quality package, vinyl pristine and quiet. Just finished listening to the Red album, and the new mixes sound great. Spendy, but nice to get the sonic upgrade, expanded versions, and colored vinyl all in one nice slipcased package. -
Really nice set. I have not listened to it yet but the box itself is very high quality, as are the sleeves. I would have preferred to see a triple gatefold with everything that went into this, spend the few extra bucks to make it slightly better but I get it, it is what it is. I bought mine from the US Beatles store and of course since they use FedEx, my box got a couple corner dings. I already reordered this once because the first editions I bought (without the box) arrived damaged on one corner. The caveat is that the shipping box was in perfect condition, so the sleeves had to have been damaged prior to shipping, either at the warehouse or perhaps even during assembly. I was upset and ed them but have yet to resolve. I saw they restocked the box, so I bought that as an alternative and of course as mentioned above, it got a bit dinged-up. A little better shipping box or maybe use USPS as an alternative could have made this better. -
There’s a good reason that this release is rated 4.8/5, from over one hundred reviews, and that’s because this release is spectacular. From the new mixes, to the pressing, packaging and box set presentation, everything is first rate. Thankfully this has been pressed at Optimal, who have a solid reputation for getting these things right. Congrats and thanks to everyone involved in this reissue. 10/10 ✨
