people nowadays would say " how much compression do you want ?" " YES " ... more compression is not possible and no dynamics at all

Edited one year agoGot my copy from Target - this record is L O U D. Feels like a wall of sound hits you at first but it smoothens out. Best version of this song I’ve heard and on a pretty red vinyl. Happy to have a piece of Beatles history.

I just picked up the last copy on the shelf at Sunrise Records West Edmonton Mall! 🇨🇦
This is a really great sounding pressing! My copy is nice and flat with hardly any surface noise. The music sounds full and rich with a good frequency range.
I'm glad that I picked this up when I did. The prices are already starting to climb. It was a lot cheaper at Sunrise Records than it's selling for on Discogs 😮 -
No crackle, pop or scratches on this but the audio sounds awful as others have indicated, bordering on distorted. I thought my stylus was broken! Way over-compressed. The CD single sounds a lot better. Very disappointing release given the high cost. They should have properly re-mastered this for vinyl

should state HMV exclusive limited edition release in the info,,,
this was an HMV massive cock-up/gaff,,, when the word got out about this 12" red vinyl run being pressed for HMV their on line ordering system went in to overdrive and order as many copies as you could get away with...there was no limits....it sold out in hours on line....thankfully some were kept back to be made available to the shops Reading Oxford and Basingstoke were assigned just 5 copies each....the stores limited sales to one copy per person....because multiple copes had been previously bought by dealers and traders on line in advance...
talking about bolting the door....total mistake on HMV';s lack of on-line quantity blocking...
HMV should......
1. Apologise to physical in-store customers who could not get this release as a 12" red vinyl on its day of release because no copies were available
2. make it publicly known exactly how many copies Optimal pressed exclusively for them in red and the cost price per disc
3 Confirm that no more runs of red vinyls will be ordered by them from Optimal
IMHO Its not a big ask at all, its outrageous that on line you can pay upfront and order any quantities that you wanted (so HMV knew in advance the quantities to order from Optimal) .
But in store the rules had unfairly changed, just one per customer....this was not an RSD release. It was HMV's gaff -
As a demo, this sounds good. But it's brickwalled to ****. I don't know why they've chosen to cut this so loud, but it's still the best version of the song imo. It's good for what it is, but don't expect amazing sound quality.

I picked up a copy of the red 12 inch in HMV in Liverpool today. It sounds really good. There were plenty of copies left for anyone interested at £22.99.

Edited one year agoLots of snaps on this one but the music drowns them out for the most part. Certainly better than the streaming versions for both of the songs for sure. The Love Me Do remix is particularly awesome, Giles’ remixes always seem to sound better on vinyl.
