As others have stated, there is surface noise, but for me the glow in the dark effect 100% suits and matches the mood of both the art, and music. For me it's the only iteration I considered when purchasing. To fully appreciate the glow effect you will need a black/UV light torch or bulb. Under that light the record is a sight to behold. As for the music, well, it's in a class of it's own.

If you have a decent record player/turntable, this press doesn’t sound half bad. When the music is going you can’t even tell it’s a glow in the dark variant until it gets to quieter parts. Now, I will say, if you have a “cheap” record player or even if your stylus needle is low quality, glow in the dark vinyls are definitely not for you. It’s common sense and not surprising that glow in the dark pressings for any variant will always have crackles and pops.

Album of the year. But I can’t say it’s glowing in the dark. Had it in a bright window for a couple of hours and it doesn’t glow anything. Quite underwhelming..

Edited 2 years agoconsidering the fact that this is a Glow In The Dark record, it actually sounds really quite good - usually, the phosphorescent particles in the plastic make the surface more rough and thus result in a higher noise floor, but in this case the difference between this and the other regular releases is actually very small with only a very slight degradation. The actul music sounds great with only a very slight hiss introduced by the GITD particles in this release.
very high quality pressing considering this kind of thing is usually reserved as a novelty that doesn't sound good.
I pre-ordered direct from the artist's website so can't onfirm or deny how many copies were available -
