Mind Body & Soul – Lost In A Maze

Pretty sure this was from 1991 although (there is a y-tube video for A2) track A2 may sound like it as made a few years later. Track A2 has, in parts but not overly done, a wispy female vocal with slighty cringey lyrics which dont really work for me when used in deep house, they detract from this track however the overall feel and effect of the tune is greater than the moments of cheese. I understand thats my preference for deep house and some will actually like those elements, either way you got a real nice late night, sun up or morning time tune.
A simple but effective (like you heard it before), repetitive xylophone intro dropping into a deep bass groove with hi-hat and synth swooshes, moving into the vocal part continuing all the while with the xylphone parts. Once the vocal has done its bit then its gets all dubbed out with splashes of congo and separation of the used sections down into just the xylophone by this tiime your in and the records got u locked.
Not essential however i'm glad its not been subject to my vinyl culls over the years.
