I agree with what most others have said here: beautiful record, flawed pressing. Eventually, I might pony up for a better copy. If nothing else, it's a 5/5 album for me.
-
Gave this vinyl a chance since my best friend loves it. The album is great but this pressing is garbage. When i put the needle on for the first track on whichever side I hear a loud thud sound multiple times for about 10 seconds, then there’s a bunch of noise, snaps and pops. Worst record I’ve ever heard. I bought a different pressing “UO coral “ hoping it’s better. Will probably just frame this one or give it away.
-
Maybe I got a bad copy but the sound is downright terrible. Surface noise and static even after a good clean, especially on side B.

A good sounding pressing. Target’s recent exclusive pressings have impressed me in of sound quality. This and the Avril Lavigne pressings were great. The packaging on this one however is pretty cheap. Flimsy jacket that is bowing in already.

Something I’ve begun to notice with certain Target pressings of albums is that they tend to be kinda cheap. And obviously that’s because it’s a limited Target release so it’s not the BEST quality in the world, but the design seems a bit cheap. At least on mine, there’s some folds and pockets in the gold color (which may just be because of the plant they used) but… yeah.
Upon playing a few times, I’ve noticed that it’s very crackly all throughout. It’s not noticeable enough to make me want to return it, but it is very prevalent throughout. Thankfully a lot of the album is high paced so it isn’t as noticeable, but if you listen closely on songs like BMLD and Liar it’s definitely there.
Overall not bad, but I probably should have just got the black version. -
own this copy and the green copy. the sound on this copy is soooooo much better than the green copy - way less surface noise and actually listenable in comparison to the green variant!

Just purchased this today and after reading all the reviews I was worried I would be sending it back. Record had static cling in the sleeve and some bits of paper on it. Wiped it off with my hand and decided to test it before even cleaning it. No noise at all. Just a blip when I drop the needle down and the faintest tics in between songs. Should clean up very nice. Using a shure v15 type III cartridge.

I ordered this way back and actually forgot about it, so I actually have two copies - the gold, and the standard black. This gold one is just flat out bad because of how much noise there is. It’s the only record I own where there’s just no point in even listening to certain songs as a result. I probably should’ve returned it, but oh well. The standard black, on the other hand, is very good. I always opt for that if I can.

Edited 2 years agoI don't understand why they (Paramore, or their label) don't pony up for decent mastering or pressing of their music. I got this from Target on a decent sale, so I guess I'll keep it. Cleaning helps, but the intermittent pops and surface noise aren't going anywhere, and the mastering is just... it's just there.
