Don't have a UK original to compare but it's hard to imagine it sounding better than this - it's clear and defined with a remarkably wide stereo image. The separation is almost like listening to a 5.1 mix - it might be a little *too* detailed and bright for some people but it makes me feel like I'm listening to the original tapes (you can even hear the faint hiss cutting in and out where the tracks have been spliced together) which is quite something with recordings as classic as these.
