To think that Seba & Lotek - Universal Music never had a 12" release (as a single), it's mini tragedy. One of the many perpetrated against wonderful and timeless music. What a shame...

Nostalgic and the vibe of this one stand out. Even when DnB is death this will be the holy grail.
It's one of my first albums and stil listen to.
The mixalbum quality even gives me that early 90's vibe :-)

*looks below* scrub that, disc 2 was a mix, only with 9 tracks listed. ;-( Can anyone shed light on this please, the missing track. tia

hmmm,
a copy I'd just sold consists of just tracks, not a mix in sight and only 9 tracks from 10 on cd 2. (Double cd, fold over case, magnetic strip.) -
Edited 13 years agoI organised the deal for this compilation with Pete Tong at London Records on behalf of Dan aka LTJ Bukem.
When he was sent to an artist studio to do the sleeve, I got a phone call late in the afternoon from Dan saying he could not come up with a sleeve he was happy with and would I come and help. So I left my office at Vinyl Distribution in Reading and made my way up to London and when I arrived Dan was all flustered as the sleeve had to be done that day.
I looked through loads of pictures before coming across the picture used. I knew it was the one because of the ray of light shining down on the Earth, and saying to Dan that it was the perfect image as I saw the music that had been released on the label over the three previous years had been a shining light for the DnB scene.

Edited 12 years agoFor me this album is one of the definitve soundtracks to my life, and has been since I first heard it all those years ago. It sits alongside Leftfields 'Leftism' and Massive's 'Blue Lines' in its status as a benchmark for electronic music when it was released, achieving cult status in drum 'n bass circles and beyond. It seems as though every track has been carefully selected at great pains to ensure the quality never lets up at any given point, and it's one of those albums where everyone has their own favourite track rather than there being one stand-out anthem that everyone adores.
The first disc is an unmixed studio selection, each track a classic in its own right. From Bukem's seminal 'Demon's Theme' through PFM's beautiful 'Danny's Song' (a tribute to LTJ Bukem) and finishing up with Bukem's 'Horizons' (with every other song in between on a par with these), it is just purely a joy to listen to, and you'll find yourself not wanting to skip tracks along the way!
Disc two is a mixed set from the man himself, LTJ Bukem. I won't bother to break down this cd into its tracks, just trust me that it is a journey that everyone should take. It's so good that even near the end, when one of the tracks begins to jump (a real vinyl mix here folks) instead of detracting from the quality of the mix, it just serves to enhance it and give it that raw, underground quality not to be found on any mix cd released today.
To put into a simple sentence, this is one of the finest albums ever created. Astounding.
