Edited 6 months agoIt's little nightamre! Their worst album ever , sounds as demo of songs recorded randomly . Sound of drums was never that bad "thx" to Jack Control mixing . There is no single song worthy listening on this album , maybe partly first three minutes of first track and partly Kevorkian times . Pure trash. And this frontcover
is horribly silly. Great that they returned with brilliant album " it beckons us all", Darkthrone is not lost -
Their best album after ABITNS. Pure punkcoretrashmetal. Nothing beats DT when they go fully TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. -
So nine different colors and almost no info on limitation? And why is there never any Info how many black Vinyl was made? As a fan and collector I‘d like to know such things. -
So Darkthrone put out a new album, and true to form Peaceville go ALL OUT with their cynically commercial 'limited edition' strategy. We don't need ELEVEN versions of this. None of these unnecessary 'limited editions' will go on to be rare collectors items - they'll all be ready available, right here on Discogs, until the end of time.

Are we to take ice skating seriously as THE trve kvlt sport? "Eternal Hails" had a beautiful cover painting, this cover is as dire as the name checking of sports stars and beer manufacturers on the album credits of that prior good album. Unfortunately, it seems that only every second Darkthrone album is good because "Astral Fortress" is a sprawling and flippant ("the sea beneath the sea of the sea"??) record which is as weak as its cover, unable to replicate the introspective and psychedelic doom landscapes of "Eternal Hails".
