If you don’t mind fixing the off-center issue by enlarging the spindle hole, IMO this is the one to get. I initially bought the 2019 reissue but found it much too boomy, too polished and separated, as well as lacking song dynamics. Mastering that way works pretty well for the rest of their catalogue, but this album is a wall of distorted sound comparatively. It needs a rock-oriented mastering, which is exactly what this is. It retains the unified, slightly dingy sound that gives these songs their highest energy and excitement. The detail sounds higher than the remaster, but it’s more subtle and less separated. “Pack yr romantic mind” and “Crest” almost sound like a completely different mix (in a good way). The only metric I would say is improved on the 2019 is the stereo image, which is a good bit wider. Either way, this one is the keeper for me by a long shot.

Great pressing, but does anyone else have an off centered 2nd disc? Jenny Ondioline plays like a drunken sailor with how warpy it sounds but there's no visible warp on mine, just off centered. Strange. Anyone else have this problem?
