    this is pure magic.

monster movie by can is in a way the most essentiell album for me.
(beside "my life in the bush of ghosts" by eno/byrne and fsol "dead cities")

i listen to it the first time, when i was around 12 or 13 and it blew my mind totally, that was the most intense musical experience for me ever and it was the start of my love for this band, that is still in ful flow decades later.

they made 4 stunning albums and then lost their way after damo left.

it is hard to tell, but monster movie is for me their best.

you doo right is so tight and intense...it is from a 12 hour session of this track, played propably on shrooms.

the other tracks are all awesome, more aggressive and sometimes punklike, beside the wonderful mary, which starts more as a ballad with great guitar work by michel, r.i.p.

    this is pure magic.

I am a huge Can fan since this record crossed my path. The, how to say, disharmonious super-harmonious arrangeents are brilliant. So is sound quality of this reprint.
If it is true that the singer went psychotic and his shrink told him to leave this music for good, it matches the spirit.
To be listened to with leasure and a flexible mind.

I'm very doubt that it is 1978 release as Spoon Records was founded only in 1979 and the first releases were Cannibalism and Irmin Schmidt's Filmmusik in 1981. It is very likely 1982 or 1983.
