A much, MUCH stronger showing than Untitled. While lacking in heavy hitters that really stand out on their own (such as Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da's "Ich Tu Dir Weh"), as an album it feels very coherent and well thought out. It has a certain refined 'maturity' to it without becoming slowed down or dull in a way that is often the case when people use that word. Of course, maybe mature is the wrong term with songs like OK and Dicke Titten in the mix. :)
Lindemann's vocals in particular here have really shown improvement, and it's nice to hear him put his clear love of classical singing to use. I also feel it's worth noting that mix engineer Olsen Involtini also had a strong showing. While I condemned the mixing on Untitled due to its flat, lifeless feeling, the guitars have real power and the drums cut through nicely on Zeit. A very strong album overall and a return to form for a band I've loved since I was little. -
