My pressing sounds pretty fantastic! There's definitely some surface noise scattered throughout the record, nowhere near a silent pressing, but the sound quality is great and sounds so full of life. Definitely hoping the other Actual Life pressings are like this one.

Have easily become my go to Album for any mood. A perfect listen from front to back. 'May be Life,, that obnoxious track that gets a second spin... Love it. ❤️

I got the reissue with the inner sleeve, and I have no problems with the sound! Basically silent except for a B1 and a little bit of B2. Very happy!

Great Album, subpar pressing.
As for all other vinyl in the Actual Life series, there’s no inner sleeve, which is lazy.
My pressing has quite a lot of noise in the quiet parts, and also some pops on both sides. -
First let me say that Fred again is a genius and this album is worth it for Billie (loving arms) alone. However, the repress is subpar and I think it’s sort of luck of the draw as to whether some of these got a little smooshed in transit without a protective inner sleeve. Could also just be a mediocre pressing job too. Either way, I definitely noticed that side A is not playing smoothly. Noisy and skips when cuing to beat match. Luckily, Billie is on side B which does play well and that’s really all I was hoping for. The rest of this beautiful work is just a bonus whether it plays well or not and I saved a bundle on the repress so. I’d give this a 5 star rating if it weren’t for the technical flaws.

Mine's the repress that came with the black inner sleeve. Sounds pretty good, the disc is flat and silent.

Anybody know if this has been rereleased? My copy of AL2 came in a normal sized sleeve with plain black inner. Can't find any info on a rerelease anywhere and find it strange that AL2 comes in a regular sized sleeve when AL1 and AL2 doesn't...

Was scared to buy this online after reading about the "no inner sleeve" situation, but pulled the trigger anyway -- it's ALWAYS worth it for Fred. Immediately upon trying to remove the shrinkwrap, I somehow cut the front cover on the edge, separating a bit of the cover from the cardstock. My fault, but the quality still doesn't seem to be there. The sleeve is thin, and upon realizing that it's smaller than the inner sleeve I planned to use, I couldn't find a reason as to why they made it this way...
Anyhow, the record itself is okay. I did experience the "frictional sizzle" on side A as someone mentioned, it almost sounded a bit blown out as you reached the label. Side B was completely fine, no complaints. Honestly, the music makes it all worth it. This album is absolutely perfect for any fan of any kind of good beats, I feel like his style has something for everyone to enjoy and find danceable.
