Very disappointed, this is not audiophile sounding. My copy is fairly quiet, but has very flat vocals with even some distortion there at times. I don't feel it is horrible, but there is a significant difference between this and just about every other fairly dynamic album I own. Expected better and now looking at the individual albums.

Edited 3 months agoI'm gonna be honest, I was really looking forward to this record, and I'm unfortunately a bit disappointed. I cleaned it, but there is still more surface noise than a colored vinyl. Some pops too. The voices are very static riddled, especially on the high end, which is what Sting, and subsequently the Police, is/are known for. Not sure what happened. It's not just the last two tracks, it's consistent throughout the entire pressing. The instruments sound fine, which is odd.
Otherwise, I love the packaging and presentation. The inner sleeves, while paper, are nice. The discs are also flat, and clean. I cleaned mine as a precaution based on reviews. I try to remain positive, ha! -
Edited 4 months agoSounds great, plays great. If I were to nitpick, I have some scattered light ticks on Wrapped Around Your Finger. Prob just my copy.
Edit: It was my copy. Upon closer inspection, the track had light scratches through it. Replacement copy plays perfect. -
This sounds great to my ears. I hear a bit more Andy parts where I never noticed them before on the individual albums – his staccato picking the the chorus of Invisible Sun, for example, come through in a new way. I sense more reverb on Sting in many songs, which is different but works for me. Good release!

The seem splits do nothing to prevent me saying this is a superb issue. The vinyl are flat and nigh silent. The sound is alive.

Edited one year agoGreat sounding pressing and worth the 50 dollars in my opinion. I’m a huge Police fan so it was nice to hear.
I had their original “greatest hits” and it was unlistenable to me (skips and pops) so this was great.
Some surface noise and I agree there’s some dull sounding tracks but overall a great sounding record. -
A very honest review, I'm not an audiofile yet, but a keen listener... the record is OK with almost no surface noise... the first 2 tracks on each side sound perfect, the last two start distorting a lot (the last on each side sounds horrible), especially the vocals start frying. This is due to the half speed cutting, with very low speed and the highs do not shine anymore. I bet that if it was a NON half speed 33rpm cutting this wouldn't have happened, maybe a little loss in the highs but no very audible distortion... 54 euros for this is not good I'm sorry...

Sounds good. Solid and consistent. Copland's drums (especially the percussive stuff and hi-hat work) shine here.
I bumped the definition (high end) a little on my Bellari Sonic Exciter a notch to just open things up. -
Decent. Nice job with instruments and separation. But a little flat, particularly with vocals, which is just a shame with Sting.

I agree with positive reviews. I have owned this for some time but read some negative reviews before finally giving it a significant listen. Sounds is very good to me.
