I don't know what year the remaster is, if it is using the 2016 SHM-CD version, But it has more dynamic range than my 2008 U.S. version the only difference is peak level is 0DB so max but the rest is at least 2 levels higher for dynamics. This version is a bit better than my 2008 U.S. remaster, but the 2022 Japanese Force of Habit is worse dynamically than my 2008 remaster version of force of habit, but not by much. Pretty solid releases for "remastered". I wish they would just re-release non remastered versions of the old pressings from all the bands but I don't think that day will ever come. Music from the old CD's pre remastered days sound better with the volume up than the remasters at lower volumes because of the "brickwall" they have introduced into the CD universe. The remasters all sound like crap when played loud. But if your only option is to get a remastered version and choosing between the 2008 Remaster and this version, I would rather have this version. Not so much with Force Of Habit 2022 Remaster.
