Hello, if this is the original pressing of this from 1949, it is 33 RPM Microgroove as shown on labels and documented in books and many websites, so it is not one of Columbia's first 45's, but is an early 7" format.

Edited 15 years agoI hate Christmas music. And I'm really sick of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer".
But when I stumbled across this first issue of good old Gene Autry singing this Christmas classic, I couldn't resist picking it up. The price was right. It was free.
And being one of Columbia Records' first 45 releases, it's a piece of history.
Gene "The Singing Cowboy" Autry had a very pleasant voice, and is ably backed by the Pinafores.
Damn....sure glad Christmas is over!
