I didn't know till today that this was tly produced by the great Christoph Franke of Tangerine Dream. A classic that has been played from its first release in the electro year of 1983 all through acid house and I believe (I stopped raving in the early 2000s except for the recent revival events) right up until today. It's never dated as it's unique and so completely timeless and doesn't seem to belong in any particular era but every era and you can't say that about many tunes.

Absolute classic. Still packs retro nightclubs. Totally unique... from a time when music had real inspiration, character and innovation. Not that formulaic, derivative such and such style of niche house made on a macbook these days. smh.

I have this 12" from 1983, everything is right except both sides play side b. It has both side a and b labels but both sides play the 4 11 original verson and the 3 11 dub version. I had forgotten all about this until recently transferring it to digital. Does anyone know if this happened to all the copies from personal records at the time?

Heavily sampled in the pop rap hit "Shake" by Ying Yang Twins. Also used in the Microsoft XBox 360 "Jumprope" commercial, possibly because it was recognizable from the YYT track... possibly because it was cheaper to license? Or just because it's a sweet kitschy track!

The first time I heard this was when I was in in the US Army. It was in a movie called "Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo" Don't laugh...
My room mate was an out of work breakdancer-white boy from LA-hence the Army. I finally hunted down the sound track-it was tough finding those types of things in at the time. if I find it, I'll post it.
