To this day, I neither care nor know the lyrics to any tracks on this album; nor do I have any intention on learning them. I kept this album on my iPod while working as a custodian. I was assigned to the gymnasium, a particularly nasty location with nasty lavatories home to stomach-turning pranks from high school boys obsessed with their own feces. I kept Dynis Fetus' "Descend into Depravity," in my back pocket for those days when the kids were especially cruel and hurled feces, garbage, and food all throughout the locker rooms I was tasked with cleaning. It was during such times of need that I turned to Dying Fetus. Tracks such as "Your Treachery will Die With You," channeled my anger and disgust into the productive, cleansing fury of my mop and power washer.
In my isolation, I screamed as I blasted filth from walls and expressed my loathing for those who had chosen to make my life an extra special hell by giving not a thought to whom must clean up the mess they made.
Reviewing Grindcore music is challenging at best and impossible at worst. Dying Fetus is writhing, bloody chaos in motion and is less about the music than the feeling is conveys. As such, I have done my best to demonstrate the righteous fury I experienced in tandem with this album.
Take it or leave it because, in the spirit of the album, I don't give a fuck. -
