Edited 3 months agoHoly shit. Incredible sounding pressing. Not gonna lie, I was pretty weary about not only the color vinyl, but compound that with the fact that it’s a split color vinyl…? Did not have the highest hopes. Didn’t think it would sound bad, but GAWTDAMN does this thing sound heavenly. Soundstage/separation is solid. The mix/EQ is spectacular. Boomy, warm, rich, punchy lows. I’m talkin punch you in the gut lows. Crispy, bright, clean highs. Balanced mids. It’s the whole package. This things sounds great. Records came flat/no warping. Absolutely no noise whatsoever, during songs or between songs. I honestly couldn’t have asked for more.
Pressing: Solid 9.7/10 -
I prefer black vinyl but for this one I'll make a rare exception, somehow the bright split color adds to the listening experience 🤷♂️
The sound quality is great although I did find it lower than most of my other albums.
I'm suspicious of the Mega Medley with all the bad comments about it on here (which I agree with), I also have the Mega Medley CD single and it is noticeably very loud, I have to run over to turn down the volume anytime it randomly comes on when I'm playing CDs...did this just somehow make it to the vinyl without any checks? Could have just left the Medley off the album and I wouldn't have missed it and you'd have a near perfect album. -

Still on Amazon UK for £28 at time of writing June 2022. Nowt wrong with hustling records for money when suckers are prepared to pay for it

Since high school, I've had two copies of the CD version. I still have one. I pre-ordered as soon as I saw the LP was coming out. I love the colors, and celebrating my hometown hero Roger Troutman.

This 2 LP set is very nice. The colors used for the vinyl is vibrant and very alive. Track selection is great and the music will put the boogie in your butt.

Mega Medley sounds funky and not in a good way. the rest sounds pretty good, and the vinyl colors are nice and vibrant

Finally a reissue on Vinyl! Long overdue. Sounds really good, I have the promo version that people want a stupid amount of money for. I gotta say the instruments are alot more pronounced than the promo version. The only thing that sounded weird was Mega Medley like a previous review said, sounds like a worn record with groove wear. Other than that, it's perfect, really dig the cover and colored records.

Just previewed this today. Beautiful color vinyl, flat, centered and no surface noise. Only issue is the zapp medley on side 4, sounds like it was sourced from a worn out record. Rest of the album is mastered well, just a little on the quiet side. Wish they would've re-EQ'd to add some bass back into tracks like More Bounce and Dance Floor. The mastering on the hits is similar to the 1993 CD.
