Notes
Early Japanese issue of Spice with different artwork, featuring a blue ring as the front cover. Issued with an obi strip and a foldout sheet containing the group's biography and translated song lyrics in Japanese.
This is a repress of the Japanese "blue ring" artwork, and is the first one to feature a disc label with a question mark after the Track 7 title ("Who Do You Think You Are?"). However, all the other components (obi, inserts, foldout sheet) do not yet have the question mark, just like in the previous version.
Below is a chronology of the blue ring artwork issued in Japan, with the differences summarized:
- almost identical to the early promotional sample copies) = Track 3 title on back insert misprinted as "2 Become One 1" and Track 7 title has no question mark (i.e., "Who Do You Think You Are") on obi, front & back inserts, Japanese lyrics sheet and disc label
- Spice (first revision) = Track 3 title corrected in back insert to "2 Become 1" but Track 7 title still has no question mark on obi, front & back inserts, Japanese lyrics sheet and disc label; has two extra lines printed at the bottom of back insert
- This version (second revision) = Question mark added to Track 7 title (i.e., "Who Do You Think You Are?") only on disc label, but still no question mark on other components (obi, front & back inserts, Japanese lyrics sheet); has two extra lines printed at the bottom of back insert
- Spice (last revision) = Question mark appears in Track 7 title (i.e., "Who Do You Think You Are?") across all components (obi, front & back inserts, Japanese lyrics sheet and disc label); has only one extra line printed at the bottom of back insert
The release date that appears on this release (19.09.96) is not the actual release date of this pressing; it is the release date of the very first 'Blue Ring' artwork version (Spice Girls = Spice Girls - Spice).
