Just got my gold copy and sound perfect. Zero noise, super dynamic sound and drums sound heavenly. Love it

Disc is warped and there is an incredible amount of snap crackle n pop on the b side. Fresh out of the shrink wrap.

Kraut rock, with a touch of psychedelic. Some very lovely dense beats and deliberate bass playing. The drummer is working overtime here.
Excellent reissue and overall product. Nice heavy pristine gold marbled vinyl and clean sleeve artwork. I gave a good scrub before playing and experienced no crackles nor artifacts of any kind. A tiny bit of noise floor evident between tracks, but certainly not a distraction.
3.5 stars. -
Just like the other commenters said: The variant is a sheer beauty of oceanic gold, but the noise floor is high and the record plays through like a campfire.
The mastering sounds decent, but it's still a shame that this pressing is basically immune to any sort of cleaning method. Probably best to stick with the standard black if you care about overall sound more than aesthetic quality. -
Sounds good at the loud parts, but pretty noisy elsewhere. Cleaning helped a bit but a lot of the noise is cooked in. The gold is handsome.

I bought this album, Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi in this reissue series and they all look and sound fantastic. I wish other bands would put this much care into their reissues.

LOTS of surface noise—especially on side B. It isn't always heard luckily, but it is still there even after wet cleaning. However, the music itself feels very alive and presents the record's beautiful atmospheres with a lot of soul. The vinyl color is pretty cool too. While I'm still bummed about the surface noise this record is still good for the price. A classic!
