I became aware of this record since Bit Stream appears on Mark N's masterpiece, Under Sufferance. If Mr. N is playing a record, its instantly worth listening to. I even bought my copy of EPK 022 from Bloody Fist HQ. What I like about Bit Stream is its a simple but effective combination of dark Drum And Bass and Industrial Hardcore before Crossbred™ was a genre. The main breakdown is a wobbly dark Breakbeat beast that is quite catchy, and when the punchy Gabber kickdrums kick in, the head nodding is unavoidable! The second half has a common Amen Breakbeat that actually sounds nice all by itself before the Gabber kickdrum is slowly introduced back for a nice long outro. Mark N has mentioned how he likes tracks that can take you somewhere else BPM or genre wise, and Bit Stream is an example of this. I find it to be a "Get Out Of Jail" track especially with tunes with difficult or beatless outros where you can layer over the DnB intro to basically anything.

However the hidden treasure on this vinyl is the B1 track! Its a 250 BPM Industrial Hardcore stomper! Traffik makes good use of the grimy half speed Hip Hop beats. But its the awesome Old School keyboard synthesizer melody that is the main thrust of the track. In the middle its paired up with a dark P type of sound and more furious Hip Hop beats. It just really cool hearing well known keyboard sounds in a Speedcore track. The B2 track is an intense Industrial Hardcore Breakbeat mix with absolutely no synths or sounds in sight, probably one for the underground purists.

Traffik has mentioned on You Tube that the track listing on the record is incorrect, I'm not even sure if the B-Side track is called Bit Stream and for that reason specifically didn't mentioned the A-Side tracks by name. Nat Ryles has been an excellent servant of UK Hardcore over many years and this vinyl shows his class as a producer.
