Notes
Manufactured in USA.
℗ © 1990 Restless Records
Printed album liner notes incorrectly credit Adamson/Savitt/Watson as writers of "What A Wonderful World". They are in fact composers of a different song called "It’s A Wonderful World". The actual song on this album is the Louis Armstrong standard written by George David Weiss and Bob Thiele.

Other reviewers weren’t kidding, this is an immaculate pressing that preserves the rawness of the recording while being incredibly dynamic and powerful. The purple color looks just gorgeous and is shockingly mostly noise free, a rarity for early colored pressings like this. If you don’t own a copy, try and track this down, it’s undoubtedly the way to own this knockout album, but if you don’t have the money I’ve heard great things about the 2018 Rhino reissue. As for me, this is all I’ll ever need.

Edited 3 years agoThis original pressing is incredible, a nice step above the 1990 CD, and on coloured vinyl too! Just beautiful, and even more, my copy came with a press release written by Dave Fridmann describing the (partly fabricated?) history of the making of this record, and it's a truly engrossing read—I just attached it to the release, so enjoy! I love when legends surround an album, and this is an album deserving of legends. Just another piece of my favourite band's history, so glad the past owners preserved these extras for the last 3 decades!

Edited 4 years agoLove this album. Vinyl is kinda noisy, but my copy was sealed when I got it and I have yet to give it a cleaning. Also you can't hear the noise on the loud tracks. Sonics are fantastic though. Mastering is bright but I like that. Not as muddy sounding as the later remastering.
