Edited one year agoOne of the worst 90's records. I don't know what people find so special about this. ''Vallée De Larmes'' is a boring track, and the other 2 tracks ''L'Eveil'', ''Quel Casse-tête! '' are terrible tribal tracks. I own more than 4000 90's house/dance/rave 12'' vinyls, and this one is one of the bottom list.

L'Eveil is a drop dead gorgeous piece of out of time and mind tribal music. Something you either begin with, or end on, and worth every bit of its nearly 13 minute journey.
The B-side is sheer fun, and smiling faces music. Track 2 Includes a 303 just to get things that much rowdier. -
Edited 2 years agoIt's so lovely to come back to this single after recent listening habits: trying to stay on top of things and work my way through the latest batch (here in 2023) of house singles, almost none of which seem to be able to muster up even a hint of creativity. The fun ones almost inevitably just an edit of some older tune probably whipped up in a couple of hours.
This felt very free and creative back then, and frankly still does now. It's musical, there's tunes in there, not just drum machines clattering away. But has a bright and joyful aspect (particularly Vallée De Larmes) that seems ready made for the Fresh Fruit label. Loved it then, and find I still do now, 30 (30!!!) years later.
Fun. -
Most will know this ep for the A-side, L'Eveil - and rightfully so. It's a sublime piece of laidback, effortless tribal house. If Aphex Twin went tribal, this is how it'd sound. The other two tracks are, as FuzoidNuzzoid pointed out, playful, infectious, silly house tunes. These guys are having fun, and they want us to the party!

How catchy and infectiously awesome are these guys.. criminally overlooked and underrated... had they been from chicago would be have been hailed as pioneers.... seriously bouncy music with a sense of playfulness that is hyper fun... !!!!!!
