Excellent release. There is a higher emphasis on melody, ambient, atmosphere than in many other techno tracks in this period.
The production is definitely techno, but there is much melodic content, albeit programmed percussively.
A1. Introduces the EP with some beatless intro
A2. A gentle but firm introduction to the dance oriented tracks on the EP. Gently, but the beat is announcing itself there, equal in proportion is the melody demanding attention.
A3. The storm above the sea is rising. The Atmosphere gets windy.
B1. The tempo is rising, this is the advanced territory. Fully immersed in Cybernetic territory.
B2. Forward thinking. It's almost like flashcore, but at a techno tempo. Although the tempo is a bit faster than most techno. Once again, the melodic element is equally present as the percussive beats.
B3. Can be used in quite a lot of ways (and so do the others). Even far beyond a techno set.
I don't think this record will be ed in a mainstream way.
But I bet my money and my music knowledge reputation on it, this will become a cult classic, for the dedicated few.
Techno, Dub Techno? Yeah, but so much more than the average record!
