Notes

Tracks selected from the 1959 avant-garde score for Vortex, a music/film production shown in the Morrison Planetarium in San Francisco.

Address shows as '121 W. 47 St., N.Y.C., USA'. Tracklist on back cover is written in the same orientation as the title. (Other editions have the tracklist written perpendicular to the album title.) Based on address, this repress was most likely manufactured in the early 1960s.

Given how aimless these types of recordings can be, for such an early collection of "music" written for a variety of non-conventional instruments, this one is actually pretty tame and quite easy to listen to. It's still bonkers and really doesn't fit any sort of environment or mood. It's best as a curiosity and a pretty cool album to own if you're into weird sound experiments from the 1950s (which I certainly am... in small doses).
